Description
The book is divided into four sections: Witness, Innovate, Investigate, and Educate, which address the Museum’s areas of involvement: History, Museology, Science, and Education. A retrospective is made back to the museum’s origin, remembering the most significant people and activities developed over the thirty years of its existence. The book addresses the heritage and history of whaling, but it also addresses the whales and dolphins of the Madeira archipelago, reconciling the past and the present by witnessing the transition from whaling to the preservation of cetaceans as well as providing an insight into the education work that has been done.
